- 24/96 Faxmodems are utterly useless for data transmission, but just as
- useful as any other faxmodem when we just consider the fax'ing part of it.
- we have here a cute little 'FAXMODEM GFC' (it's all it says!), with this
- array of jumpers:
-
- WAIT1 ..
- WAIT0 [..]
- IRQ2 [..]
- IRQ ..
- 2or4 ..
- 1or3 ..
- 2or4 ..
- 1or3 [..]
- 3or4 [..]
- 1or2 ..
-
- .. - open circuit
- [..] - jumper in closed position
-
- At the moment, the modem responds to COM3, IRQ2. Any effort to decipher
- the jumper settings by trial-and-error renders the modem useless. I have
- concluded that there might bess less combinations in the Rubik's cube.
-
- I had originally thought the WAIT1/WAIT0 jumper positions may have been
- similar to Supra's methods for choosing a COM port, but this is not so.
-
- Any help is *greatly* appreciated.

- (Don't throw that 2400 modem away! It just might be a faxmodem, more useful
- as such than a modem itself...)
